Kim McCarty is primarily known for her wet on wet watercolor on paper technique and for her images of adolescents, the human figure, animals and nature. Snowy Owl begins with wet droplets which converge to reveal an owl perched on a bank of snow in a winter storm. In Kim's animation, the owl is front and center, monumental and unfettered as snow falls.
